Now, Bussman has extended its arc flash hazard protection to include individual PPE. Developed with all of Bussman’s electrical safety expertise, the new Bussmann series arc flash suits and electrical gloves will ensure your team has all the gear essential to ensure their safety while working on electrical equipment.
12-Calorie Arc Flash Suit
Front-zip coverall style with balaclava to cover face and neck is rated at 12 cal/cm2 and meets ANSI/ISEA 125 Level 2 and Arc Flash PPE Category 2 standards. The hard hat is rated Type 1 Class C, G, and E and the durable face shield is clear gray for 100% color acuity and is anti-fog and scratch-resistant.
40-Calorie Arc Flash Suit
Rated at 42 cal/cm2, this hood, coat, and bib overall-style PPE meets ANSI/ISEA 125 Level 2 and Arc Flash PPE Category 4 standards. The hood window is made from durable polycarbonate and has both anti-fog and scratch-resistant coatings and is clear gray for 100% true color acuity. Coat has knit cuffs and front zipper closure while the bib overalls have adjustable suspenders.
40-Calorie PPE Comfort
Bring smart charging technology to fleet operations. Series 7 charges electric cars; Series 7 Plus charges buses and light/medium-duty trucks. NEMA 3R rated. Offers built-in alerts and provides detailed reports on electricity delivered to each vehicle, charging times, and more analytics.
With the same safety features as the 40-Calorie Arc Flash Suit, the 40-Calorie PPE Comfort’s bib overalls, coat, and hood are made from a premium, ultra-light blend of inherently fire-resistant fabric for superior comfort. Features day/night visibility striping and dual-stage zipper with Velcro for closure.

Bussman PPE arc flash suits come in sizes ranging from Small to 5XL. The right garment size ensures your workers are protected and comfortable. Arc flash suits should be worn over their regular clothing, be loose-fitting and allow for proper range of movement.
Made from Inherently Fire-resistant Fabric
Our 12-Calorie and 40-Calorie PPE arc flash suits are engineered to be flame resistant and require no chemicals to be added to extend their protective capabilities. The 40-Calorie Comfort suit is made from an inherently flame-resistant Aramid blend of heat-resistant and strong synthetic fibers, providing a PPE that is very lightweight.

Extend the arc flash protection with additional accessories: Rubber electrical glove kit exceeds ASTM D120 and ASTM F696 standards; 9-piece electrician’s tool kit tested to 10,000 Vac and rated for 1,000 Vac when working on live parts; Hood-mounted LED light; Ventilation system for maximum visibility and comfort.
