While a centralized UPS can provide value over distributed designs, power distribution and reliability become more critical. Because they are hardwired, UPSs over 6 kVA almost always require a maintenance bypass to directly connect utility power to the IT equipment. In the event of scheduled UPS maintenance, a service event or failure, the Eaton BPM maintenance bypass functionality helps keep critical loads running. In addition, it enables you to distribute power from the UPS to connected equipment.
