The Challenge

A precision machine tool manufacturer in the Midwest was preparing to ship a completed machine to an end customer early Monday morning. The timeline was already tight, and the situation became more complex when an issue arose over a holiday weekend.

Late Friday afternoon, the manufacturer encountered persistent issues while attempting to download a program to a Schneider Electric HMI. After several hours of remote troubleshooting, the root cause was identified as a faulty programming cable. With local suppliers closed and no replacement cables available in the area, production was at risk of missing the delivery deadline.

The Crescent Electric Solution

A Crescent Electric Application Engineer stepped in to support the customer beyond standard business hours. Recognizing the urgency, he volunteered to travel to the customer’s facility, located more than an hour away, to personally deliver a verified, working programming cable.

Arriving on site Friday evening, he assisted with transferring the program to the Schneider HMI and ensured the system was fully operational before leaving. This hands-on support allowed the customer’s team to resume work immediately and stay on schedule.

The Outcome

Thanks to Crescent Electric’s responsiveness and commitment to customer success, the manufacturer was able to complete the machine build and ship on time to the end user, despite the holiday weekend constraints.

Following this experience, Crescent Electric has continued to collaborate with the customer on additional initiatives, including VFD upgrades and remote I/O conversions.
