The ETI SIT-6E sensor provides versatile and cost effective automatic snow melting control when used with any APS or EUR series control panel. It accurately measures pavement temperature while reliably detecting snow and ice conditions on pavement surfaces. A built-in hold-on timer in the SIT-6E keeps heaters operating for an hour after snow stops to help ensure complete snow melting. So how does it work The ETI SIT-6E pavement-mounted sensor signals for the heating cable to turn on when the pavement temperature falls below 38 deg F (3.3 deg C) and precipitation, in any form, is present. Microcontroller technology effectively eliminates ice bridging while ensuring accurate temperature measurement. No external pavement temperature sensor is necessary. The ETI SIT-6E is normally mounted halfway between adjacent heating cables. Since internal heating is very small, the sensor clears at essentially the same time as the pavement which saves additional energy by minimizing the hold-on time. The SIT-6E is an NEC Class 2 device operating from power furnished by its control panel.
